What registration actually means
Registration means DIRCO holds our details, and that we lodge documents through the dedicated agency service on a booked slot rather than queuing as a member of the public. That is the whole of it. It is a smaller claim than those usually made in this industry, and that is why we can state it plainly.
What it changes for you
You do not attend DIRCO.
You do not book an appointment, you do not queue, and you do not take a day off work. We lodge and we collect.
The cycle is weekly, and it is fixed.Documents are lodged on a Wednesday and collected the following Wednesday, which is five working days. A document that reaches us after that week’s lodgement goes in on the next one, so the day we receive your document matters more than anything else in the timeline. We will tell you which Wednesday you are on when you instruct us.
The same fee covers both certificates.DIRCO issues an apostille for destinations inside the Hague Convention and an authentication for destinations outside it. Why we do not offer an expedited service
Because there is no lawful way to buy one. DIRCO does not sell a faster lane. Its own circular to registered agencies describes advertising an expedited DIRCO service as false advertising, and notes that it has received complaints alleging that officials are paid to move documents. An offer to move your document ahead of the queue is an offer to sell something DIRCO does not have for sale. So the absence of an expedited tier here is not something we are apologising for. It is the point. Five working days, Wednesday to Wednesday, at the same price for everyone.

How can I check your registration?
Open DIRCO’s legalisation services page at dirco.gov.za and go to the Agencies sub-menu. The list of registered agencies is published there. It is DIRCO’s own page, not ours.
Do I have to go to DIRCO myself?
No. That is the practical difference registration makes. We lodge and collect on your behalf, so you do not book an appointment, queue, or attend DIRCO at all. We collect nationally by courier, so you do not need to be in Pretoria either.
