Why do some documents need embassy attestation?

Some countries are not members of the Hague Apostille Convention. This means that an Apostille will not be the appropriate process. The process used will be the Authentication process as set out in High Court Rule 63. Some countries further to the above want an embassy attestation to be placed on your document to satisfy the requirements of the overseas authorities.

If your documents are for use in a Country that are not included within the Hague Member list then they will sometimes also require embassy stamps. As well as providing the Apostille service, we also deal with most of the embassies in Pretoria & across South Africa that are not members of the Hague Convention and can have the relevant stamps issued on your behalf.
